Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two modes?
Component mode (encodeURIComponent) is for single parameter values. Full-URL mode (encodeURI) keeps characters such as : / ? & intact.
Why is a space sometimes + and sometimes %20?
HTML form encoding uses +, while RFC 3986 uses %20. The decoder understands both.
